Well first here's a little blurb to get you even more pumped!!

Wide Awake Blurb:   A life she can't remember.
When Emma Walker wakes up in the hospital with no knowledge of how she got there, she learns that she's been in a coma for six months. Strangers show up and claim to be her parents, but she can't remember them. She can't remember anyone. Not her friends, not even her boyfriend. Even though she can't remember, everyone wants her to just pick up where she left off, but what she learns about the 'old her' makes her start to wish she'd never woken up. Her boyfriend breaks up with the new girl he's dating to be with her, her parents want her to start planning for college, her friends want their leader back, and her physical therapist with the hazel eyes keeps his distance to save his position at the hospital.
Will she ever feel like she recognizes the girl in the mirror?

A Sneak Peak!

One
Someone was speaking. No, he was yelling. It sounded angry, but my body refused to cooperate with my commands to open my eyes and be nosy. I tried to move my arms and again, there was no help from my limbs. It didn't strike me as odd until then.
I heard, "All I'm saying is that you need to be on time from now on." Then a slammed door startled me. I felt my lungs suck in breath that burned and hissed unlike anything I'd ever felt before. It was as if my lungs no longer performed that function and were protesting.
Then I heard a noise, a gaspy sound, and my cheek was touched by warm fingers. "Emma?" I tried to pry my eyes and felt the glue that seemed to hold them hostage begin to let go. "Emma?"
Who was Emma? I felt the first sliver of light and tried to lift my arm to shield myself, but it wouldn't budge. Whoever was in the room with me must've seen me squint, because the light was doused almost immediately to a soft glow. My eyelids fluttered without strength. I tried to focus on the boy before me. Or maybe he was a man. He was somewhere in between. I didn't know who he was, but he seemed shocked that I was looking up at him.
"Emma, just hold on. I'm your physical therapist and you're in the hospital. Your…" he looked back toward the door, "parents aren't here right now, but we'll call them. Don't worry."
I looked quizzically at him. What was he was going on and on about? That was when I saw the tubes on my chest connecting my face to the monitors. The beeping felt like a knife through my brain. I looked at the stranger's hazel eyes and pleaded with him to explain.
He licked his lips and said softly, "Emma, you were in an accident. You've been in a coma. They weren't sure if…you'd wake up or not."
Of everything he just said, the only thing I could think was, 'Who's Emma?'

Ok, are you so totally psyched now?  Because I cannot even wait for this!  So without further ado, let's see this awesome cover!!!!

Flight Review!

This week was a pretty slow week for me, so I actually got to discover new authors!  Alyssa Rose Ivy is a wonderful addition to my author's I love club, and her book flight is fantastic.  I literally cannot wait for the next one in the series, which I am told should be released in December sometime (yay!!!).

Flight is about recent high school grad, Allie who travels with her best friend Jess to work at Allie's dad's new hotel in New Orleans.  Allie has "sworn off" of guys and Jess wants nothing more than to party with as many guys she can.  When they first step foot in the hotel, Allie locks eyes with the super hot Levi, and from that moment, Allie's life goes from 0 to 60 on the crazy scale.

I loved this book.  That's it.  Period.  It was completely original, completely new, and really, really good.  I love that Alyssa Rose Ivy completely made up her own world and social hierarchy within this book, and it is a welcome addition to the paranormal scene.  When Levi first told us who he really was, I was kind of like, "Whaaaat?"  But, the idea quickly grew on me, and I really liked how organic every detail was in the book.

Something else that really caught my attention, was the friendship between Allie and Jess.  I thought that the circumstances in the book were completely believable, and even more-so relatable.  Plus, the action between Levi and Allie is absolutely fantastic, tense, and hot.  I literally cannot wait for the next one in this series!  December cannot come fast enough!!!

Flight Blurb!

Sometimes you just have to take flight.

A summer in New Orleans is exactly what Allie needs before starting college. Accepting her dad’s invitation to work at his hotel offers an escape from her ex-boyfriend and the chance to spend the summer with her best friend. Meeting a guy is the last thing on her mind—until she sees Levi.

Unable to resist the infuriating yet alluring Levi, Allie finds herself at the center of a supernatural society and forced to decide between following the path she has always trusted or saving a city that might just save her.

Spiral Review!

I have been a fan of Maddy Edwards since I stumbled upon her One Black Rose series.  Her ideas are fresh and have an original take to whatever her subject matter is.  Her newest book Spiral is a completely new idea in my opinion.  I have never really heard of Unicorn lore before and Spiral was definitely something new to read!

First of all, I thought the characters in the book were fantastic.  That is something that I think Maddy does supremely well, she creates characters who are vibrant and multi-faceted.  I also think that the initial introduction of Pierce was very well plotted. It created a sense of mystery, but not so much that we as readers felt out of the loop.  I also think that Natalie was characterized in such a way that came off innocent, yet not naive and annoying.  I feel like there was some disconnection at parts of the story, mainly with the dreams of the spider man.  They were kind of resolved, but I didn't feel a completion to them.  I'm thinking that it may be unveiled in the next book?

Another thing worthy of note within the book was the masks that so many characters wear.  In the final pages of the book, we don't really know who is team good and who is team evil.  I love this about Maddy's books, because she creates villains who have actual human qualities.  I admire that an author can make us question whether a person's motives are good or bad.   My only major point of contention was that I wish Jackson had been introduced a little earlier.  I think his presence creates a wonderful tension between certain characters, but I also think that it would have been great to see a little more interaction with him and the girls, just to further establish a more finite connection.

Overall I think that this is a wonderful addition to Maddy's growing collection of books.  I really thought the concepts in it were fantastic and new.  It's great to see an author kind of go in a direction with subject matter that isn't grossly over saturated on the market right now.  Hats off to you Maddy!  Cannot wait for the next book in the series!!

Spiral Blurb!

A romance slam . . . A mysterious stranger named Pierce and an old friend named Jackson . . .

Natalie is about to turn eighteen and her life is being turned upside-down.

She's having nightmares, and when Pierce tells her that she's a descendant of unicorns, with the ability to heal, and that there are powerful mages after her, she knows that nothing will ever be the same again.
