Beyond The Eyes Tour!

Review:
Beyond the eyes caught my attention after reading the blurb.  My initial impression of main character Paige: snark-meister.  I loved it.  Paige has had some hard knocks in life, her mom is pretty much MIA and her dad died when she was young.  She also has these crazy weird/chilling premonitions.  Overall, I did like her character a lot.  I think for the amount of crap Paige goes through on a daily basis she is pretty well adjusted.

Now, we meet Nathan after Paige has fainted at a club. He is sort of the knight in shining armor at this point because he literally catches Paige as she's falling.  Nathan came off as pretty intense to me, but he was concerned about Paige's safety, and when a guy is concerned about a girl's safety, it warms the iciness of my sarcastic heart.

The other characters in Beyond the Eyes: Tree, Carrie were all well rounded and fun to read about.  I really loved Carrie's and Paige's relationship.  True best friends help each other out with last minute assignments. ;-)

The setting of the book was in Astoria, Oregon and I think that Rebekka Ford did a really great job of giving us the Oregon vibe.  Definitely parts hipster, nature, and rain.  The plot moves along at a nice quick pace.  I didn't feel the need to skim, and was quickly enthralled in the events of the book.  It was intriguing and in my opinion a solid debut.

Now, my only "gripe" with Beyond the Eyes is something that I personally dislike in books, especially PNR books: Insta-Love.   Now, again this is my personal preference.  I like my love stores slow and intense.  While this one is intense, it is a pretty fast paced one.   However, that doesn't mean that this isn't worth the read.  It's definitely a great book, and has tons of potential for a fantastic and gripping series.

I recommend this for lovers of the paranormal, romance, swoon worthy guys, and awesome friendships.

4/5 Oh Yeah I liked it a lot!

Blurb: Paige knows evil exists in this world, but she never imagined it would want something from her.

After a ghostly voice whispers a haunting message to seventeen-year-old Paige Reed, Paige’s life takes a nightmarish turn. Unwilling to tell her friends about the supernatural occurrences happening in her life, Paige feels more alone than ever–until she meets Nathan Caswell.

Nathan is not only hot, but seems to peer into Paige’s soul, evoking a magnetic energy between them that cannot be denied. But he’s no ordinary guy. He tracks dark spirits, and becomes alarmed when they set their sights on Paige.

And then there are the two power-hungry dark spirits who believe Paige can find King Solomon’s magical ring for them, because when her father was alive, he was close to finding it. If Paige doesn’t comply with their demands, they’ll kill her.

Paige is forced to dig deep into her father’s past and unearths shocking secrets about him and his bloodline. With the past and present colliding, Paige is only sure about two things in her life: she needs to outwit the dark spirits to stay alive, and she’s completely and helplessly in love with Nathan.
