The Love Game Blog Tour!

If you've been on a New Adult contemporary binge like I have been, then you definitely NEED to check out The Love Game by Emma Hart.  After I saw the synopsis for it, I needed to read it.  It looked like it had all the goods, angst, romance, steam, and a bad boy who needs a lesson.  Needless to say The Love Game left me very impressed!

Review:  Something that I think Emma Hart has a great talent at is creating fantastic characters. Maddie and Braden jumped off the pages.  I totally got Emma.  She definitely speaks my language of bringing the player down back to Earth. I appreciated that she was a strong and independent woman.  Braden is definitely one of those self absorbed boys, but he was also swoon worthy and a total alpha male, so of course I couldn't hate him at all.  The minor characters in TLG were hilarious.  I loved how Maddie interacted with her friends, and the language they used with each other was spot on.  I definitely felt like I was apart of the conversations in the book, rather than reading them.

The whole twist of the story felt very "How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days" to me, and let's be real; that movie is great.  So my expectations for The Love Game were along the lines of some crazy Love Fern proportions (If you've watched the movie you'll know what I'm referencing here). While there weren't any love fern moments per-say, I loved the idea Maddie and Braden playing each other and then realizing that they might be better as something more than just fake boyfriend/girlfriend.

The side drama with Maddie's brother Pearce was really sad.  Unfortunate family situations are never fun, and I can definitely understand why Maddie moved all the way across the country from Brooklyn. When Pearce makes his appearance in the book I was totally cheering for how Braden showed up on the scene.  That moment made me absolutely fall in love with him, well that and other things ;).

Overall The Love Game fits nicely into the NA genre, and if you have been on a binge in this genre like I have, this book will definitely appease your craving.  The Love Game is a fun and emotionally satisfying read.  Pick it up, it's only $.99!

Recommended for lovers of: romance, NA, alpha males, strong female leads, good reads.

4.5/5 OH YEAH I LOVED IT

His challenge? Make her fall in love with him.
Her challenge? Play the player.
Until life changes the rules of the game.

Maddie Stevens hated Braden Carter on sight. Arrogant, egotistical, and the playboy of the University of California, Berkeley, he's everything her brother Pearce has taught her to despise. So why, when the girls challenge her to play the player, doesn't she say no? She doesn't know either.

Braden wanted fiery little Maddie the second he laid eyes on her - and he'd do anything to have her, hence why he's agreed to make her fall in love with him. After all, it's the only way he'll get what he wants. Sex.

But, as Braden discovers, there's more to the girl from Brooklyn than he ever imagined - and he can't help but care about the broken girl behind those pretty green eyes.

Maddie finds Braden isn't just a walking erection - he actually has feelings. He can be sweet, funny and his good looks don't exactly hurt. That means trouble - but when her brother Pearce turns up in Berkeley begging for her help, she realises Braden and Pearce aren't so alike anymore.

And maybe, just maybe, they're exactly what each other needs.

About Emma:
By day, Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to a terrible two year old. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of wine and writes books.
She likes to write about magic, kisses and whatever else she can fit into the story. Sarcastic, witty characters are a must. As are hot guys. She has two new series planned as well as her New Adult Romance, Never Forget, due February 2013. She likes to be busy - unless busy involves doing the dishes.
Her debut YA series, The Mauve Legacy, is an Apple iBooks Bestseller - and this makes Emma excited.
