Undertow Review

I was graciously gifted a copy of Leigh T. Moore's second book in the Dragonfly series undertow.  I was really excited to see where the story was going to go, and I am really impressed and excited about what happens in Undertow.

Book #2 in the DRAGONFLY series, coming July 18, 2013!

"Falling in love will pull you under..."

Bill Kyser has a plan to take the sandy farms of his hometown and turn them into a world-class tourist destination--and become a billionaire in the process.
Alexandra "Lexy" LaSalle has a plan to change her life by becoming a world-famous artist.
Meg Weaver has a plan to hold onto Bill no matter what she has to do.

Three friends, three dreams.
One fatal decision will change all their lives forever.

In Dragonfly, Bill Kyser gave Anna the three journals that held the story behind the powerful developer's seclusion and the damaged lives of his family members.

Anna hoped to find a way for Julian to know the truth, but as she digs deeper into the tragic events of the past, she realizes silence could be the only option.

Now she's in an alliance with the man she formerly feared. And if Julian finds out what she knows, she could lose for good the boy she's starting to love.

Review:  I am completely impressed by Undertow.  Leigh T. Moore essentially tells Undertow through four different people; and let me just say, it's hard to master dual points of view, let alone three and four.  LTM has done this masterfully in Undertow.  She gave each character a completely unique voice that defines and separates them from the rest.

With the first character other than Anna we get to meet, I was a tad unnerved.  I didn't really understand what direction the book was taking and the character's voice was just so completely different from Anna's.  It was startling, but true to form, LTM's words just suck you into the story.

It was interesting because while we don't see a lot of Anna and Julian throughout the book, so much happens.  So many decisions are made and so much is explained.  It made me root for Anna and Julian all the more.  I also think that what little of Anna we do see in Undertow, you can see the continual growth of her character in her actions and emotions regarding events of the past. I came out of Undertow thinking really deeply about everything I had just read.

While Dragonfly was about Anna sort of uncovering this major event that happened in this small town, Undertow is the story of her literally drowning in what happens within the story she uncovered.  Hearts are broken, families torn apart, children are born, everything boils down to truth and consequence.

I think as far as a second book for a series goes, Undertow knocked it out of the park.  It held my interest and has me needing the next book to know what is going to happen to these characters next.  Now, I know I have said this before, but Leigh T. Moore is just a phenomenal writer.  I am always just amazed every time I read something of hers and am just completely blown away.  Seriously, if you haven't read anything from her yet, you are truly missing out.

Undertow releases July 18th!  Be on the lookout and support awesome authors, like Leigh T. Moore, and buy their awesome books.

5/5 OH YEAH I LOVED IT
