Unafraid Blog Tour

Hey lovely readers.  Today is the kick off for Melody Grace's UNAFRAID blog tour!   Not only do I have a review for you guys, but I have an exclusive excerpt.  Needless to say, today's post is just chalk full of awesome!   Be sure to pick up your copy when it releases TOMORROW!

The first time I saw her, I knew this girl was wilder than any stallion I’d ever trained. She was headstrong, wounded, passionate and free. And I had to have her…”
Brittany Ray doesn’t care about her bad reputation. Growing up in a sleepy beach town with a junkie mom and a runaway dad, Brit’s learned the hard way that the people you love will only let you down. It’s no use hoping for love or happiness. Some dreams aren’t meant for girls like her.
Hunter Covington is one of those dreams.
Gorgeous, charming Hunter is damn near perfect—and it’s killing him. Son of Charleston royalty, he’s been trapped in a gilded cage since the day he was born. Now he’s breaking free. He’s quit law school to restore his grandpa’s old horse ranch, trying to soothe the demons in his soul. But Beachwood Bay is full of old ghosts, like the mysterious girl who spent an unforgettable night with him—and then slipped away before dawn. Brit.
Everything about her screams danger, but Hunter doesn’t care: he’s never felt a connection so deep. And try as she may, Brit can’t resist the desire consuming her —or the safety she finds in Hunter’s arms.
A reckless passion. An undeniable bond. Scarred by their pasts, Brit and Hunter fight to heal old wounds. But will dark secrets tear apart their new beginning? And when love is the biggest risk of all, can they find the courage to face the future unafraid?

REVIEW:

I absolutely adored book one in The Beachwood Bay series, UNBROKEN.  Melody Grace set the bar pretty high in terms of angst level addiction for me, so I was stoked to get my hands on UNAFRAID.

In UNAFRAID we meet Hunter and Brit.  Brit is Emerson's sister that we met briefly in UNBROKEN, and from the time I first came across her character I adored her.  She's outspoken and has a tough as nails attitude.  Hunter was someone I immediately liked.  He wasn't an alpha-male, but he has this take no prisoners attitude that was refreshingly attractive.  His dates for Brit were unapologetically romantic and sweet.

The storyline in UNAFRAID was fast, but in a believable way.  For me, it really helped that there was this previous connection and knowledge between Hunter and Brit before the events in this book happen.  Melody Grace creates this wonderfully sweet story between characters that are holding onto these scarring battle wounds they've picked up in their lives.

While I really loved Brit's growth throughout the duration of the book, Hunter made me really mad at certain points.  Some moments I was mad at him just because he did something that literally only a guy would do with the best intentions.  That moment was a laugh out loud, cringe inducing, oh my gosh Hunter that was such a stupid thing to do moment.  But, at one moment I felt like Hunter was a completely different person from who we'd come to know throughout the whole book.  However, he more than made up for his lapse in personality with the resolution of his and Brit's story.

I think UNAFRAID was a great addition to the Beachwood Bay series, and it did make me excited to see what Melody Grace has up her sleeve next.  I also think Hunter showed up Emerson in the awesome hot guy department.  He was thoughtful and sweet, even though at times that landed him in some hot water.

I think Melody Grace created a fantastic story for Brit and Hunter, and it's a very fitting read for the last days of Summer.  If you are a romance fan, definitely pick this one up! For now I will leave you with my recommendation and this insanely hot quote from the book. Happy Reading!

4/5 Oh Yeah I liked it a lot!
